Ivo Graham: Orange Crush - On The Mic

Ivo Graham: Orange Crush ★★★★

This Review is from August 2025

Ten years ago, almost to the day, I shared a drunken night with Ivo Graham and Mae Martin in a Free Fringe venue. They were both great company, two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Moreover, they were hardworking and talented beyond their years. Fringe audiences had already discovered their abilities. It was only a matter of time before the rest of the world caught up.

Now playing to a sold-out Pleasance Grand, one of the largest venues on the Fringe, Ivo Graham’s new stand-up comedy show revolves around his favourite colour, orange.

Ivo recounts his involvement in a Swindon Town football club protest group, the Spirit of 69, and his attempts to save the Oasis leisure centre. There’s a great tale about meeting the wrong Nick Hornby at a dinner party. He shares a story about trying to find his young daughter a flag at a pro-Palestine march, a more serious moment, but he still finds the funny.

Perhaps I prefer the nervous energy of the younger, hungrier comedian working hard to succeed, but he’s still brilliant. Talent doesn’t leave you. And he’s still only bloody 34.
