One of the real joys of being a long-time visitor to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is that you can watch comedians learn their craft in real time. I recall watching Gearóid in a small free venue over ten years ago and seeing potential. Happily, that potential is now being realised – and then some.

Indeed, the Irishman’s status in comedy has grown to the extent that he recently competed in the Irish version of the internationally franchised TV show, Dancing with the Stars. The experience is mined for laughs to great effect. Through the story we also learn of Gearóid’s clear attitude towards his sexuality, rightly insisting to producers that he would only do the show if his dancing partner was a man.

Gearóid discusses his dance partner, his parents and his much-loved cat. Every story makes us laugh and brings us closer to who the real Gearóid is.

Warn, relatable and very, very funny, this is Gearóid’s best show yet.
