Davina Bentley: Dancing While Old - On The Mic

Davina Bentley: Dancing While Old ★★★

This Review is from August 2026

Davina Bentley describes how life changes once you reach your late 30s and beyond. People respond differently to you. Bar staff don’t see you. Strangers don’t talk to you at parties, and so on.

Everyone has a face card that will be more frequently declined the older we get. There is a lot of age discrimination around, even at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The beauty of this show ought to be in its relatability. After all, in time, Davina’s experiences will be pretty much universal. Sadly, where the show falls a little is when the comedian indulges in some discriminatory jokes of her own. It’s done knowingly, but she is having her cake and eating it.
