Josie Long: Now Is the Time of Monsters is a stand-up comedy show that explores matters of extinction, evolution, and politics.

She discusses getting a concussion, parenting challenges, and, not to put too fine a point of it, giving a fuck about what’s happening to the planet. She’s on the left and is trying, really trying, to be optimistic.

Josie’s early shows had an emphasis on the whimsical, with later efforts being much more political. This triumphant return to Edinburgh successfully marries her two strengths. And Now Is the Time of Monsters is funny, unrelentingly so.

The comedian concludes with a beautiful and unexpected finale. A message of hope and resilience.
