Seymour Mace Presents Captain Winky’s F*ck Off Olympics is a title, Mace confirms, that he came up with in February before he had written the show. As such, it has absolutely nothing to do with the unpredictable happenings in this bizarre and very funny hour at The Stand.
The show is almost entirely improvised, based on questions that the audience have written on strips of paper. This is a risk, of-course, but Mace is a powerful comedian who can send us into hysterical laughter, even when we give him very little to work on.
It’s hard to nail quite what the comedian is doing that is quite so bloody funny. Mace just is funny. His jokes are funny, his seemingly random musings and non-sequiturs are funny. He even looks at you funny.
Mace has worked extremely hard at making this look effortless, and was likely born a comic genius.*
