Please tell me about your 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show.

We are doing an exciting new sci-fi based improv show called Starship Improvise. The show follows a group of actors talking to an audience of ‘fans’ about their hit 90s Sci-Fi show Celestia 7. The audience tell us about their favourite episode and the show is then improvised live on stage with the “actors” jumping in and out to answer questions about some of the more obscure parts of the writing. With some amazing improvisers drawn from three of the best shows, I’m really excited to be a part of this one.

What is the attraction of performing at the Edinburgh Fringe? What do you think of Edinburgh?

I love Edinburgh, this will be my ninth Fringe and certainly not my last. There are just so many shows here and such a display of talent all in one city. Also it provides such a great opportunity for newer companies to showcase their work and that’s really exciting.

Who inspires you?

Personally I am inspired by a lot of old school actors, John Cleese, Abbot and Costello, Larry Griswold. More recently, Chris Morris, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton . Also, Henry Shields is an inspiration of what not to do…!

Are there other shows you want to check out during the Fringe? What are they?

I’ll def check out,  Austentatious, Showstopper and our other Mischief shows; Charlie Russell Aims To Please and Mind Mangler – Member of the Tragic Circle. What I love about the fringe is finding out what shows have a buzz around and them and the opportunity to find hidden gems when I’m up there.

Finally, ask and answer a question of your own.

What’s the weirdest thing to happen to you at the fringe?

Hmm that’s a tough one, great question Dave. I’d have to say…Sneaking into a sold out show at the Gilded Balloon by using a fire escape and walking directly onto stage during a stand ups act.
