Hi Sophie. Tell me about your 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, Hag

Hag is SO much better than anything else I’ve ever done, including the show that got me nominated. There’s no rational reason for anyone to dislike it. What a treat of a month we all have in store. *

Your first stand-up gig was in 2015. Your rise as a performer, writer and personality has been meteoric. Especially given all the lost time during the pandemic. What is the secret?

I Hoodwinked The UK Entertainment Industry and Started Making Thousands With This One Weird Trick – head to the FAQ at www.sophieduker.com to find out now!!

Do you think society has a problem with strong women? Do some people have issues with strong women comedians?

Not sure if I identify as ‘strong’, as I have been trying to improve my upper body strength since 2019 with dubious success. It all stemmed from a new material night when I sat backstage with Fern Brady and Jess Fostekew while they were flexing their biceps. It was incredibly humbling.

You used to be in a uni improv group. Do you still enjoy doing a bit of improv comedy?

Yes, and I especially love to do it with three middle-class white men in a non-geographical location.

Write down the question you wish I’d asked and then please answer it for me.

I just wrote it down with a pen and then answered it out loud. Was that too literal of me?
