Please tell me about your 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show,

The show charts Nancy’s journey from quitting drag at the start of the pandemic following the cancellation of a UK Tour, to a return to the boards to overcome personal trauma and injury.

The show provides personal thanks to the work of the NHS that has supported Nancy through gout, bells palsy, a broken foot and more recently arthritis in both knees. This explains Nancy’s signature look – trainers.

What is the attraction of performing at the Edinburgh Fringe? What do you think of Edinburgh?

I’m so delighted to be returning to the Edinburgh Fringe with this new show. Performing on stage and connecting with audiences has helped me get through lots of personal trauma and I’m so excited to get to know audiences, tell my stories and sing a song or two! I love Edinburgh – and most things about it – except the hills. Not with these gouty feet!

Who inspires you?

Lots of people inspire me – my mum, people who’ve worked on the front line during the pandemic and the Queen! She’s done a great job for such a long time and doesn’t give any sign of stopping!

Are there other shows you want to check out during the Fringe? What are they?

Jojo Sutherland always puts on a good show, but I’m most excited to see Vanity von Glow in Drag Queen Wine Tasting – because I can heckle her with a glass of wine in my hand!

Finally, ask and answer a question of your own.

Tell us the most embarrassing story about yourself?

I’m afraid you’ll have to come and see the show – where I confess to the most embarrassing moment when I sought help for a bad back…
